GI Physiology Laboratory
Access to a GI physiology laboratory vastly improves the ability to screen and test patients, especially those with symptoms that are difficult to diagnose and treat. At Temple's state-of-the-art laboratory, we perform:
- Gastric acid secretory testing
- Pancreatic exocrine function tests, using secretin stimulation
- Duodenal drainage with bile analysis for cholesterol and calcium bilirubinate crystals
- Glucose and xylose tolerance testing
- Impedance testing
- A full complement of breath testing (lactose, lactulose, fructose, glucose and xylose)
